March 13, 2025 - Throwback Thursday - THE EVOLUTIONARY WAR

Well, hello there,

Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been going well. It's almost over!

This is the second in a series of Throwback Thursday Comic Stories. I hope that you like this one because we are going back to lates 1980s with Marvel's Summer Crossover Event...THE EVOLUTIONARY WAR!

The story was published in various annuals over the summer months. I really like the format of using annuals for a crossover. Annuals had a larger page count, so there was more room for supplemental stories and character updates as it pertained to the main story.

Best of all - NO TIE-INS! If you wanted to read the crossover, all you had to do was read the annuals. There was none of this:
- Main Title
- 5 supporting mini-series
- Tie-In's with other comics in the middle of a storyline that has be paused or shoe-horned in to the crossover but doesn't really make sense and why did they have to do it this way?
- Alpha/Omega Issue bookends

The Evolutionary War stuck to the annuals, and it made it really easy to read the ENTIRE story - not just the bits are parts you have to try and figure out which one to pick.
