May 23, 2025 - Flashback Friday - Captain America: The Bloodstone Hunt

It's FriYAY! And it's Memorial Day Weekend! Everything's coming up Milhouse today! Love to see it!

Today's #FlashbackFriday is about Marvel's Captain America #357-#362 "The Bloodstone Hunt". This was a pretty cool globe-trotting, bobby trap, treasure hunt adventure.

Baron Zemo is trying to find the Bloodstone, an ancient jewel that grants the possessor superhuman abilities. Ulysses Bloodstone was the initial carrier of the jewel, but he died. The jewel was buried with him. So, Zemo has to find the grave to get the stone. Cap needs to find the grave to stop Zemo. It's a whole thing.

Interestingly, the funeral for Ulysses Bloodstone was the setting for the recent Werewolf by Night special on Disney+ from a couple of years ago, and the Bloodstone was featured in the story, along with Ulysses' daughter Elsa Bloodstone.
