May 28, 2025 - TOP 3 PICKS - New Comic Book Day

Hello there,

Happy New Comic Book Day! In the past, people called today "Wednesday." So weird, right?

It's a #ncbd, and, as you head out to get your weekly haul, here are some recommendations to check out.

1. Hyde Street from Image Comics and Ghost Machine. Mr. X-Ray is the main feature of this issue, and it's a really twisted one. It has some great Creepshow/Tales from the Crypt moments, and the underlying conflict between the different inhabitants of Hyde Street is boiling up and over.

2. The Pale Knight from Mad Cave Studios. This is a new #1 and does a really great job of setting the scene, the conflict, and teeing things up for the upcoming issues. I'm already looking forward to what Issue #2 will reveal.

3. Bitter Root from Image Comics. Bitter Root has been a great read and awesome story. Monster hunters in the middle of a Mississippi Burning type of story. If you liked "Sinners", then definitely check out this story.
