October 16, 2025 - Throwback Thursday - Excalibur: The Sword is Drawn

Hey there, Adventurers! Happy Thursday!

It’s time for a new episode of #ThrowbackThursday, and this one ties together a few big storylines from previous weeks.

Today we’re diving into Marvel’s Excalibur — a series that picks up several threads from Uncanny X-Men and X-Men vs. Fantastic Four.

Kitty Pryde is still recovering from her procedure after X-Men vs. Fantastic Four. She’s stuck in a phase state and can only turn solid if she focuses hard enough. One night, she dreams of Rachel Summers — missing since the X-Men’s battle with Nimrod and the Hellfire Club — and in that dream, she helps Rachel escape.

Maybe it wasn’t just a dream.

Meanwhile, Captain Britain — Betsy Braddock’s twin brother — struggles to accept her “death” in Fall of the Mutants. And Nightcrawler is still healing from the Mutant Massacre.

Then things really kick off when the interdimensional mercenaries known as The Technet arrive, hunting for Rachel Summers. Turns out she actually did escape the Mojoverse and is now falling through different realities — with Mojo’s Warwolves on her trail.

Rachel finally makes it back to Earth-616, landing in London. Before she can even catch her breath, everyone shows up — Gatecrasher, the Technet, the Warwolves, Nightcrawler, Captain Britain, Kitty Pryde, and Meggan — leading to one wild battle.

And out of that chaos, Excalibur is born.
