October 23, 2024 - New Comic Book Day - Top 3 Picks

Happy New Comic Book Day (#NCBD). I hope your week is going well.
On the store front, we have all of the requested documents and worksheets completed and resubmitted for permitting. Also, the approval for the store front sign and monument signs (street sign) have been given, invoices have been paid, and fabrication has begun.
As for this week's Top 3 Picks, here are my recommendations:
1. Absolute Wonder Woman 1 from DC Comics. Wonder Woman's absolute origin is told, and I really kind of dig it. It's more centered, less confusing, and still holds an air of mystery. The updated look is really cool as well as her tweaked powers. However, despite all of these things, she is still very much Diana.
2. Rook: Exodus 6 from Image Comics and Ghost Machine. I've been digging Rook: Exodus since the Ghost Machine primer. This has been a great series, and this final (for a couple of months) issue really delivers a clean conclusion and sets up the next story arc.
3. Hack/Slack Body Bags from Image Comics. This is my deep cut of the week. Body Bags was awesome back when it debuted from Dark Horse Comics as part of their Noir Line back in the mid 1990s. I should really hunt down those missing Heretic issues from the same line at some point. Body Bags had a couple of one-shots and some reprints, but now it's back with a new original story along with the cast of Hack/Slash. It'll be interesting to see how these two worlds interact.
