September 3, 2026 - Throwback Thursday - Adventures in Ink

Hey there, Adventurers! It's Thursday, so you know how we roll. That's right! A new episode of Throwback Thursday. Let's reach into a comic box, pull a book, and see what it's all about.
This week it's the late 1990s - early 2000s run of Suicide Squad. The premise behind the Suicide Squad was super-villains and criminals were picked to be part of a secret government team. In return, they would receive time off their prison sentences - if they survived the mission. The idea was that if one of them or all of them died on the mission, it wasn't a big deal becuase they were bad guys, and who cares if they live or die.
This version of Suicide Squad featured some main-stay characters like Deadshot, who was part of the first Suicide Squad, and some new members like Major Disaster. Sgt. Rock returned to comics to lead the team, having previously be the head of Sgt. Rock and Easy during World War II.
The series ran for 12 issues and ended on a mystery that still, to this day, hasn't been resolved.
Sound interesting? Then come on down to Adventures in Ink. We have issues.
